My name is Michel Ristenpatt (1968). I started taking music lessons at the age of 10 in Oldenzaal. As a child I had the opportunity to meet the inspiring keyboardist Skip van Rooij and started taking lessons from him. He also brought me to study at the Conservatory in Rotterdam, where I also met other great pianists like Rob van Kreeveld and Rob van der Linden. I finished my studies as musician (UM) in 1992 on the Conservatory in Rotterdam as a pianist/ keyboardist.
My musical evolution really got off after I finished my studies and I got a lot of experience in playing and composing of jazz, fusion, classical, world-en popmusic. I also really enjoy teaching students in several music schools in and near Leiden.
